Dimitris Tampakis is Electrical Engineer (1981) with Ph.D. in Electrical Power Systems (1984) both from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and over 35 years of professional experience. Most of his experience has been acquired through his involvement in projects of TIF-HELEXPO S.A., the official exhibition organizer of Greece. He is also in permanent cooperation with the Power Systems Laboratory of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and he is involved in many EC, National and private funded projects.

He has considerable experience in project management, either as project manager or as team member in several multi-million € engineering projects. From 2016, he is the Project Manager of Thessaloniki ConfEx Park, and he is the leader of the technical team responsible for the ConfEx Park International Architectural Design Competition.
