Announcement of the winners of Thessaloniki ConfEx Park Competition
The winner of the first prize of the “International Architectural Design Competition for the Thessaloniki ConfEx Park” was chosen unanimously, after a three-day meeting by the members of the Competition Jury, who were in the city from 20 to 23 July for this purpose. The winning design proposal is the team of Sauerbruch Hutton (Germany), Gustafson Porter + Bowman (Britain) and Elena Stavropoulou (Greece).
The second and third prizes were awarded to the following groups: The second prize to the team of Lina Ghotmeh Architecture (France), Vogt Paysage + Urbanisme (France), LAN (France), LOT (Greece), Tractebel Engineering ( France), Systematica (Italy) and the third prize in the team of UNStudio (Netherlands), Schema4 (Greece), OKRA Landschapsarchitecten (Netherlands).
In fact, the Jury Members after the end of the procedure said they were impressed by the diversity of ideas and design philosophies of the proposals submitted, but also by the high level that characterized them.
All fifteen (15) design proposals that passed in the design phase of the International Architectural Design Competition - from which three were selected - will be presented at the Exhibition and Conference Center during the 85th TIF, when the three prizes will be awarded in a special ceremony.
